Designer Bookend.

Try painting a shelving unit with the help of a living bookend.

What do you mean there is hair on the shelf?

Hair adds substance to the paint.

Trouble.....

I think I am in trouble again. My Dad forgot his work bag and came back home and left the front gate open. As Mum opened the front door, I scooted out, through the front gate and took off exploring the neighbourhood. No.2 son finally caught me, and Dad was not impressed when I tried to look cute and lay on my back in the middle of the road.

When I finally got back home, Mum yelled at me. I know she was worried as I have absolutely no road sense. So I went out the back to console myself with my tasty,( Mum says revolting), bone.

I thought I would lay low for a while.

I'll let Mum calm down.
My my this bone is scrumptious.
Maybe if I look cute and adorable she will forgive me. Hmmm, I wonder if this is working on her.

MMMMmmmmm
Oh oh, she is sitting on the seat looking at me. I think I can still see some steam coming out of her ears.

I hang my head in shame.

YES, she has stopped steaming. She can't stay mad with me for long.

Now I can get back down to the important things in life.
I heard Dad say 'Bloody Dog'.

Dull Grey.

Today was a typical Autumn day, cold and grey with bursts of blue sky and sun every now and then. So it was just as well that today was the day the car went in for its regular service. I was informed that the said service would take about 2 or so hours. Lovely. I wandered across the way to the shopping complex dreading having to spend a couple of hours looking at stuff I didn't want or need.....Well a lovely umbrella with Flat Cats on it took my fancy. Well it was threatening rain!

I didn't last the full 2 hours. I think I would rather have pulled  my own teeth out than walk around for a second time. So I wandered back to the dealership and sat waiting for the service to be completed and to be presented with the bill. I used to suffer bill shock, the one where you look at the bill, look at the service manager and your mouth moves but only squeaks come out. But years of squeaking have taken their toll, so I just accept the bill and schlep over to the counter and hand over the money. Silent crying ensues.

Tip the Scale.

Hey,pssst, Bonsaimum. I have something monumentous to say.

"I am sick of Ladybug taking up all the limelight. Who does she think she is? A Tabloid Queen?"

Harumpfh. "If you don't stop laughing I won't talk to you."

"That's better."

"You should hear the dastardly plan I have hatched. Mwahaha haaaahaa."

"Oh no, someones coming"

"Go away, it's my time to shine."

"I shall wait patiently here to ambush that publicity seeking hussy."

"Here kitty kitty."

Thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers  go out to all those injured in the Boston bombings. Evil has struck again.

Lazy Afternoon.

Well it's been a long week. Saturday is a time to rest and recuperate.

"Go away"
"I am meditating".
"Yawn, go away, can't a woman  sleep in peace?"
"Don't look at me, I have some serious beauty sleep to attend to".
"" I said...........".
ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Afghanistan Exhibition.

Yesterday Hubby and I decided to go and see the Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum. It was quite an eye opener to see the history and the beauty of the artefacts on display. It was also disheartening to see the destruction of such history and beauty by years of War and the Taliban. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photographs, but you can see pictures of the exhibition here: http://museumvictoria.com.au/melbournemuseum/discoverycentre/afghanistan/

However, I could take some shots of other displays and I was particularly taken by the Dinosaurs. It was a bit sad in a way as I remember going to the old museum as a child and it had heaps of displays etc. Then they built  a new museum. It is very nice but doesn't have that 'something' the old museum had.
Heading towards the Museum.

Magnificent Exhibition Building next to the Museum.

Beasties.

Some magnificent tapestries on display.

Away with the music.

I love music, well I had better qualify that statement. I love all music EXCEPT Rap. I would rather watch paint dry than listen to it. Tonight Hubby and I are going to see two classical guitarists who happen to be brothers. What a talented family. We were lucky enough to  get front row seats and I am going to be away with the fairies for the evening.

As usual, No.2 son was very supportive. "I hope they don't sing".
Bonsaimum: "Well no, they just play amazing classical guitar".
No.2 son: "Thank god for that. You said Jimmy Hendrix was a great guitarist and he sang and was awful".
There is just no hope for some.

Autumn

Well it has been a productive Wednesday. Some house painting has been done courtesy of Hubby and the vegie patch has been weeded. Just need to get some soil in for my vegie beds and I can begin to plant for Autumn/ Winter.
View to the right.

View to the left. Six beds in all.
We have quite a bit of rain this past week. I had pulled out my parsnips because the prolonged hot weather had basically decimated them. Then lo and behold, today I spied....
New little parsnips sprouting next to my silver beet which miraculously survived the long summer. A nice little surprise indeed. Hubby needs to finish the paths around the beds. Always something needing doing. Of course I had an audience while I toiled. They did not offer to help, they annoyed the chooks, the dogs next door, the birds and each other.

It is so exhausting watching her work.
I'm thinking of helping.......nah, too much like hard work. Time for a snooze.
