Moving to Bloglovin'

Apparently Google reader is ending on the 1st July and it is suggested that to follow your favourite blogs, you have to use Bloglovin'. So I have dutifully moved all the blogs I am following to that site.

Super Moon.

It is supposed to be the super moon. At the allotted time I dutifully went outside to take a photo of this phenomena. I have no super lens, no telescope, just my normal camera. So that is what I got, a normal photo of a very normal looking moon. I feel cheated!

Winter sniffles.

I could hear tiny sneezes coming from the next room. Poor Brandi has picked up a cold. It has not happened before, so I spring into action. No more sleeping on No.2 sons bed in the cold during the day, oh no, she now sleeps on Hubby's desk chair lounging in the full winter sun. On dull days she gets blankets on her and lots of cuddles. It is working, and she is sitting behind me as I write this in a warm room. I did want her to go into the main room with the big heater but she was having none of that.
Do you know why? One word-Baxter. Ladybug wanders in and out knowing that her paws contain weapons of mass destruction. Baxter learnt the hard way. Brandi hasn't figured this basic fact out yet, and Baxter isn't going to enlighten her very soon.
Let me out. Preferably before Baxter comes back.
Well? Open the door!
Ah, the politics of the hierarchy!

Ho Hum.

It is a cold wet day. That can only mean one thing-NO WALK. How can I cope, no planting my feet firmly on the ground and grin at bonsaimum trying to pull me forwards. Ok, she always wins but I just like making the walk a little bit more interesting for her. I know deep down she loves it!
I am bored.
She walks fairly slowly through the park and when I know she is daydreaming I just prop and silently giggle as she is yanked backwards. I know she is saying lovely sweet nothings to me.( smirk). The best bit is when we are on the way home and walking along the street. I wait till there is lots of people around and then decide to 'do my thing', and watch her have to clean it up with the doggy bags. It kills me everytime!! She does love me, really!
Butter wouldn't melt in my mouth.

It's raining- what are you going to do about it?

We had quite the deluge last night and I made the mistake of going into the chook run this afternoon.
Nice of you to turn up.
I could say with 100% certainty that the ladies were not impressed with the weather or me.
If I wanted a mud bath I would have asked for one.
I had the feeling I should have been carrying warm dry towels and champagne rather than grain and greens.
And don't come back without some tasty treats. Hired help these days!!
I am due to change their bedding tomorrow. Hope they are in a better mood. Hmmm maybe some juicy earthworms will win them over.

Another lovely winters day.

Ah yes the universe is smiling down on me with a beautiful cold sunny day. Baxter was put in his harness and off we went on our regulation walk. You may notice that I don't mention Sorcha any more. She was a bit too boisterous for me and kept digging holes amongst my collection of weeds, so something had to give. She has now gone to a new home and for that I am grateful. I must say Baxter thinks it was the best move I have ever made!
Start of the walk
Local artists painted Bollards along the walking tracks.
More Yabby holes
The park also has a section of wetlands.
Young Magpie.
Baxter checking out another Bollard.
I was happily walking around with my camera around my neck and was getting some strange looks. I don't know what people thought I was up to. I may look dodgy, but not that dodgy!!.

I'm Baaaack!!!

Yes I have finally decided to take part in the world again. To cut a very long story short, my hubby's boss does not like him and so is looking for any and every reason to get him sacked. A 28yr teaching career down the toilet. Being the sole breadwinner of the family, this would put us in a very bad situation. I rushed out to try and get a job but being of a mature age and suffering rhuematoid arthritis doesn't seem to go down too well. Hence I have had a meltdown. So not one to give up, I have decided to keep my chin up and face what ever comes my way.

Baxter and I have taken to  going for a walk each day, slow it might be, but we both feel happier after it. Well he does.

So it is the first week of winter. At the moment we are still getting rather reasonable days. I hope it stays that way for a while.
The bark is coming of the gum trees and everything is starting to get that untidy look of winter.

It has been so wet that yabby holes are appearing everywhere, even in my own backyard.

I noticed this cheeky one in the trees, a sulphur crested cockatoo. Not fussed in the slightest by a weird woman with an annoying dog looking at it.

You looking at moi?
Go away or I really will give you something to look at!!
Goodbye Autumn.
